For some great snorkling you should head to the Turks and Caicos islands. On the island of Providenciales snorkling is amazing, the water is so clear and shallow, equipment is there for hire from the beach or free with your resort sometimes. They have areas marked in the water where you can swim round protected coral The best spot on Grace Bay beach is just outside the resort called Coral Gardens. Have a great time.

Snorkeling Trunk Bay
The St. John Virgin Islands National Park maintains an underwater snorkeling trail at Trunk Bay with under water signs providing a wealth of interesting information. The water is calm and clear, warm and inviting, enjoy!

Visibility is much better away from the shore. For the best visibility in the water, you need to travel by boat to get away from the shore due to all the particulates floating in the water caused by wave action stirring up particles from the bottom of the ocean. Get the kids to wear life preservers or bouyancy compensators.

Has to be Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.
But then I’m biased.
