What to do with long hair when scuba diving?

Kaitlyn аѕkеԁ:

I hаνе long hair аnԁ аm wondering whаt οthеr scuba divers ԁο wіth іt whеn diving іn a wetsuit. A braid wіth a tie wουƖԁ hυrt, being squeezed іn thе wetsuit down mу spine. A bun οr ponytail іn mу hood іѕ аƖѕο uncomfortable.. nοt tο bе complaining аbουt аƖƖ thе options.. bυt аrе thеrе аnу more long hair options whіƖе scuba diving?

  1. My old girl friends just seemed to deal with like you said plaits buns and just keeping it out of the way…So know I don’t really know of any good options-Me I keep my hair real short

  2. What if you braided your hair into two braids and then wrapped them around your head to lie more flat?

  3. how about putting into a pony tail, with a small hole melted at the back of your hood, so you can pop the “tail” through to the outside, so its not bunched up underneath?

  4. If you are wearing a hood, the I would say just brush it back and let the hood hold it down. Since the neck of the hood gets tucked into the wetsuit, tuck in the hair as well. Before you zip up the hood, look down which will pull the hair up some in the back to give you some “slack”.

Another option is to braid two pigtails starting behind each ear. Instead of letting them hand down your back, bring them over the shoulders, and use the hood to help hold them there.

My wife and other female divers use these two options, but none of them have hair that is longer than the middle of their back.
